Grant and Christine launched Aroha Leadership, drawing on over 40 years of experience working with leaders.
Recognising the context of constant change and the unprecedented harmful effects of stress, they noticed the way many leaders are trained falls short of today’s challenges, let alone tomorrow’s.
They aim to raise the bar for creating extraordinary leaders. They approach this with fresh, creative methods that consistently empower leaders, their teams, businesses, and all their relationships to thrive.

After spending 4 years in Melbourne, working across Australia, and launching a global leadership summit online, they returned to New Zealand to create their distinctive approach to relational leadership development.

The Aroha Name
We have chosen the Maori name ‘Aroha’ drawing on the wider sense of the word, reflecting ways people relate to one another, including with respect, empathy, hospitality, generosity, and connection.

When we lead from a place of Aroha our dreams become possible and we are inspired to achieve beyond what we have previously imagined.
Aroha, a compound word, includes the parts Aro, Ro, Hā, Oha. These words give many layers of meaning:
- ARO is thought, life principle, paying attention, to focus on, to face or front
- RO is inner, within, introspection
- HA is life force, breath, energy
- OHA is generosity, prosperity, abundance, wealth
